The cyclone separator is an ideal initial treatment device for removing oil-water condensate from the compressed air in order to relieve further drying stages. As a result of strong swirling of the compressed air, condensate is secreted, which, rejected on the separator walls, flows to the bottom of the tank, from where it is discharged outside by means of a drainage valve. The special design of the separator, including the use of a baffle above the tank bottom, prevents the condensate from being swept away again by the centrally rising compressed air stream. To ensure automatic correct operation, the separator should be equipped with a mechanical or electronic condensate drain.
